NBA Finals: Spurs vs. Cavs

Spurs in 4.

timmgirvan 06-02-2007 11:04 PM

Not impressed,huh?

Coach Pants 06-02-2007 11:15 PM

Cavs acted like they won it all tonight. Going to be a rude awakening next week.

Two former Spurs assistant coaches. Egan helped Popovich with defense a great deal, the Cavs play defense. I am happy for the city of Cleveland. They deserved it.

Rasheed is a free agent. What team in their right mind will pick the freak up? Its that talented I think we can control this guy mentality. I wonder what team will roll the dice.
When Detroit beat the Lakers Rasheed was the second coming. I knew what would happen when things start to get tough. Guys like Rasheed cant handle failure. They dont learn from it, they cry. The world gets tough, they fold. I really hate people with this mentality.
I dont like making parallels with life, but I really have a hard time with people that cant get back off the mat.
Guys like Rip Hamilton and T. Prince did not deserve a teammate like this.

Rashid may act poorly, and I will never forgive him for making fun of Ron Harper's stutter, but he has done quite a bit on the court to put rings on Hamilton's and Prince's fingers.

That being said......ya gotta love LeBron. He is as good as it gets.

A ring. ONe ring. And now its over. With Shaq playing injured I might add. And now implosion. They guy is a plague.

One ring is a lot. There are many more talented players than the two you named that never got even one. I doubt Hamilton and Prince would have even one without Rashid.

I'm not defending Rashid, and find his behavior pretty poor, but in my opinion he has been an integral part of the Piston's success.

A healthy McDyess that could play more minutes would have served them better imo. I have no questions about Rasheed's ability. Or Terrell Owens.

Oh and yesterday's game 6 reminded me exactly of Miami's game 6 vs. Detroit. I was there! Jason Williams ( 10 for his first 10 shots ) playing the part of D. Gibson ( 31 points ) and D-Wade playing the part of Lebron.

I'm not saying the Cavs will pull that off this year but I wouldn't be surprised if they give the Spurs a real run for their money.

It's LeBron vs. Mr. Eva Longoria.

My $$$$$$'s on 'Bron.

Morty must be delirious.

Who plays Shaq?

robfla 06-03-2007 12:18 PM

the dreadlocked guy. you know, the one that tried to dribble the length of the court with lebron in front of him ;)

ninetoone 06-03-2007 01:11 PM

Can't bet against the Spurs but what a nice performance by the Cavs...should have won all 6 games quite frankly and to come back and take the series after two heartbreaking losses...well, congrats to them! Lebron has pretty much silenced his critics (including me) and getting to the finals is huge...for Cleveland AND the NBA. I'll root for the underdog!

deltagulf 06-03-2007 04:38 PM

spurs in five!!!

The Bid 06-03-2007 04:54 PM

Spurs in 5

They used to run a caption on the screen in Cleveland when Ron Harper gave interviews

SentToStud 06-03-2007 04:56 PM

Spurs in either 5 or 7. I can't see Cleve losing game 6 at home.

James is superlative.

It took Jordan 4 tries to crack Detroit.

James is arguably better than Jordan at this point in his career.

Spurs have a chance at 4 championships in 8 years.

One unselfish superstar can keep a team good for a long time.
Changes must be made at years end. No standing pat. A big man that is mobile and is a basketball player is needed. Barry goes. Horry goes hopefully. Need to get young and improve. Finely, one more year. Bowen might be able to play 2 more (health nut).

Core of Parker (Scuds pronounced this Frenchman could never win a championship at least 100 times), Ginobili and Duncan will have to be supplemented, reguardless of what happens against Cleveland.

Bowen has covered:
1. Iverson and Carmello
2. Nash and Marion
3. Deron Williams
4. Now Lebron...

Marcus Camby (defensive player of the year, does not even cover Duncan in the playoffs) ... What a crock.
