![]() With all the talk of "the live game is dead", I was thinking today at Belmont how busy it seemed. Since the 4th is a day where people can actually ATTEND the races, instead of having work and other obligations from 1-5 PM, here's the reported figures for today at major tracks:
Belmont 8,415 (seemed a lot more than that, all the front parking lots were full by the 4th race when I got there) Churchill 12,398 Ellis (opening day) 7,088 Hollywood [not available] Lone Star 20,000 Monmouth 15,791 Pretty impressive.
