My winter "home" for racing...

An interesting opening day card.

Race 1: $7,500 claimers going 1 mile 70 yds

1- His dirt stats are good: 5-2-1-2 has the right running style for FG
2- Dirt stats are 10-1-2-1 been off for 61 days
3- First time trying a distance race, half of the Broberg "uncoupled entry"
4- LA bred who broke his MDN here with Statebreds. I see him as a live longshot
5- Midwest Throughbreds trained by Amoss will be post time favorite. Been post time favorite 5 straight races, only won one of them
6- Other Broberg horse, third off the layoff. Crushed a field of 5K claimers going 6 1/2 last start at Delta
7- ran twice at FG both off the board

1-4-6-5 these are my top 4, will narrow it down to key horse after scratches


Race 2: $10,000 LA Statebreds MDN Claimers going 1 Mile

1- 3/1 ML favorite not sure why, speed figures going in wrong direction. Did "win" at FG with Statebreds but DQ'd
2- been off 82 days, only one work since layoff
3- been off 145 days, no workout since 10/3. Ronda Hutchinson trains
4- been off 82 days, one work on 11/7. First time going 1 mile
5- been off 73 days, could be the "speed" of the race
6- been off 82 days, never lifted a leg in 4 previous races. Ronda Hutchinson "other half"
7- first time at a route, has quite a bit to prove
8- been off 92 days, blinkers come back off. One interesting note Jame Theriot rides
9- been off 72 days, worked 10/28 & 11/7. First time going a route

Tough field to bet on, someone will win.
