That Anew is some horse since being gelded. Might be the best sprinter in the country.

I would say Toby Sheets is doing better than Asmussen by a wide margin right now. In NY the guy in unconscious.

I dunno about that one, bold...

Certainly the sky's the limit, but best sprinter in the country off a win over nobody on a speed favoring track?

Not saying he can't be a force in the sprint division, but I'm not sold just yet...

Who is better going 6F-the BC Sprint distance? His times appear to be just as quick as LITF and that is two big times in a row.

This horse is insanely good since having his nuts taken off. Hes a new animal. Track wasnt that speed favoring. I saw several make nice moves off the pace and rather think that the rail wasnt the best place to be. Anew was awesome. I think you are looking at past form and not believing he got that good.

Skip Away...Anew is actually better from just off the front. He won despite being on the lead. When he lays off the pace,he has got a wicked turn of foot.Anybody can sour, but I think he will win the Breeders Cup Sprint( if he is simply this good four and a half months from now.)

This horse was awesome in the winter when he beat Tiger for the first time. Guess this proves that class means zilch in sprinting.

Yet like Ateam, I am not convinced he did nothing more than take advantage of a very weak field and a speed bias track, I want to see more. I mean he beat Tiger, Spanish Rabbit and Grandmother Camie.

Nice story though. Hope he stays healthy.

If that track was a speed favoring track, then I am even more impressed with Gorella's run.

I am soooo on this horse's bandwagon that it is annoying isn't it?

Buffy, the dirt was speed-favoring, not the turf...

This post just reminds me the kinda short-term memory racing fans have...whoever is the last horse they saw win a stakes is their lock to win a BC race. Bordonaro, Friendly Island, Carthage, LITF, Kelly's Landing, Gaff, a bunch of fast 3-year-old sprinters, and now all of a sudden, Anew is the best sprinter in the country off of one stakes victory.

It's strange how one person says "Anew might be the best sprinter in the country", then another person will ask why people think Anew is the best sprinter in the country. Might be means just that, you need to consider this horse now seriously in the sprint division, not based on one stakes wins but one four consecutive routes since being gelded.

Also LITF and Kellys Landing are not three year old sprinters.
