Default JR Velasquez can be such an idiot

He's on the best horse, Just A Little Jet in the 1st race at Belmont
and he's getting cute trying to go up the rail behind a quitter

the trifecta wouldn't pay much but I had it

This is pretty much a clueless riding colony when it comes to the turf courses at BEL. You'd think they were riding at HOL or SA. They just fail to grasp that the OUTSIDE is the place to be here. And, what's with all these DEAD HORSES being kept on the rail in the stretch, ensuring that the field clusters and making it increasingly more difficult to come off the pace, as well more dangerous to ride? Once upon a time, there'd be payback for **** like that. Today, who cares?

Velasquez had a lot to do with the winner in the 2nd as well.
I guess it's impossible to save ground but to ride with zero sense of urgency

Edgar seemed to know he was packing more horse in the stretch while being aware of where the overinflated 6 was.....actually it's not unlike Garcia realizing he had the first won once JR made a couple of bad decisions prior to the finish of the first.

I'll give the 1 with Gomez a shot here against the chalk with small exacta boxes 1/2,5 and reverse

i dont see it either... in the second race he just got beat... but in the first, that was all his fault, he was sitting on a ton, if he goes outside he wins easy

that horse wasn't asked for run until after he was passed. That and being stuck out wide like he was on Big Brown

either way after the ride he had in the first he gets all the blame

He rode the horse perfectly in the second. Knocking that ride borders on lunacy.

What goes 99 clunk, 99 clunk, 99 clunk...

a centipede with a wooden leg.

now that's silly

watch both races and tell me he never had a choice to make. That he had to be cute and try to go up the rail in the first and in the 2nd. Yes, he was passed on the outside he was at least 4 wide all the way around the track and just sat there like he was waiting to get beat.
