Default 07/23/11 Saratoga race 8

Any opinions from our Saratoga experts on todays Saratoga race 2. My notes say Tulane Up Leapt in the air at the start and broke slow. Can he reverse the result on the 2 and 8 from that race on 7-23-11 8th race In todays 2nd race? Looks like good turf breeding. Opinions desired and accepted please!!

First thing, he is a she.
Leapt in the air is putting it mildly, it was a terrible start pretty much taking her out of the race completely. Despite the trouble she did make a decent run after being stuck on the rail and then going wide. I'm not sure where Ortiz is going to go with her, but there seems to be no speed in the race.
It also doesn't seem like an extremely strong group.
I'm expecting Notell to take alot of money, but she had a perfect trip last time and couldn't catch the front runner. (If I remember correctly, there was a speed bias early in the meet because of the lack of rain that might have had an affect, but I could be wrong about that).
Strikealinethruit had a ton of trouble in the stretch, when she finally got through she ran up for third. I also expect Crypto Kitten to be much better in her second start. She gets a positive rider change (Garcia has been brutal) and is adding the shades for her second career start. She was very rank and blew the turn for home in her debut. I think she might try to shake loose on the lead.

If I was playing the race, I would use the 3,8,9 in Mulitis and probably play the 9 to win. Thinking she will be the squarest price of all of them, with the chance of her going wire to wire with the blinks on for the first time.

Now that I said I wouldn't use her, she'll probably win by 6.
I'm far from a pro, but that's my take.
Good Luck.

FWIW....Kent's only mount on the card today is the only FTS in that race.

Beware the BigsMC "done no wrong" angle.

I though that angle only applies to Tampa Bay Downs and Derby Lane Greyhounds.

I just noticed that Kent isn't riding her, it's now Jaime Rodriguez.

Agreed. We need more of this around here. I always enjoy reading other handicapper's opinions. You never know when you may learn something.

Thanks Matt.
