This tip, from the bloodhorse, may help with pedigrees.

"So it is probably best just to remember that Bold Reason is the broodmare sire of Sadler’s Wells, and Bold Reasoning is the sire of Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, and that Hail to Reason is both the sire of Bold Reason and broodmare sire of Bold Reasoning."

Here is the filly's page #130
http://www.fasigtipton.com/catalogs/2008/0714/130.pdf

Traipse has been outcrossed to the 2 Northern Dancers in Medallist. There is a 4dx5sx6d Hail To Reason cross at the top of the linebreeding chart. From the immediate family of Dynaformer and other G1 winners; 3-0-12-1-0 dp; di 1.29; cd 0.31; e nick A, true nick B, gsv 59.18.

This is some paper stuff. Yes the physicals are huge.

I'm curious if you think the breeder made a good mating decision?

I do. I like the x2 Northern Dancer outcross. Closest up you have the x3 Hail To Reason. They've taken the 2 Nearctics (Northern Dancer's sire) and crossed them with a Nearctic in the dam through the filly Snow Bower, 6sx6sx5d. This Nearctic is a powerful sex balanced cross. There is plenty of support from LaTroienne, Scapa Flow, Selene. You have two reines on the bottom line that produced Dynaformer, etc. . This is a very very good pedigree on paper imo.

Edit: Touch Gold has no Hail To Reason. Maybe that's why they went to Medallist, to get that x3 cross.

Speaking of Sales.. I got a call today from a friend of mine in France that has come across a filly by Storm Cat out of Roses in Kentucky. She is 3 yrs old.

He wanted to know if I could help him find out 1)what sale she went thru and 2)how much she went for..
Anyone have any references I can go look up? I tried the Fasig-Tipton site, but was hoping I could do a search with a name perhaps..Was also hoping to find something that was'nt so "involved" as to looking at every sale catalog in 2006 or 2007.

I don't believe there is a horse named Roses in Kentucky.
