![]() WASHINGTON -- President Obama bolstered Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid, creating a new White House office of Olympic, Paralympic and Youth Sport on Tuesday, the day before a crucial presentation by Chicago and U.S. Olympic officials to International Olympic Committee members in Lausanne, Switzerland.
In addition, senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett taped a greeting to be played for Olympic officials. Before joining the Obama administration, Jarrett was tapped by Mayor Daley to help lead the committee seeking the 2016 Games for Chicago. The new sports office -- and Jarrett's message -- is intended to send the message to Olympic officials that Chicago's bid has the highest possible level of White House support. I presume this will cost some ![]() ![]()
