I didn't bet a penny on any Kee races, not one penny.
I knew he'd probably get beat as well. That stuff can beat anyone.
We just got a few extra bucks on him for the BC Juvy in price. He'll crush them like a grape.

Schrupp really said that? Even if it was real dirt I don't know if I'd have drawn that conculsion...we know he loves CD, expect to see him in the winner's circle 11/04/06.

I give CQ about as 15% chance of winning the BCJ. I think he good horse with some potential, but he hasnt done anything to tell me he is worth a low price going two turns in a nice sized field. I think we will learn that this horse is a nice horse, but not triple crown worthy.

In no way am I trying to start a fight here, but. Mike, are you saying that the horse that beat CQ, on paper, had no chance? I beg to differ in my humble opinion. Don't throw up the poly stuff, lets just look at it on paper leading up to the race.

And these are 2 year olds.

CQ wasn't even 2nd best there, the third horse was(he had a much tougher trip). I'm no action expert, but if you think CQ was running like he had in his previous three I have soem real estate in the everglades that will be right up your alley.
This past weekend's Poly stakes were pretty funny. I wonder how often Asi Siempre would beat happy and spun on dirt? How about Kelly's landing suddenly becoming "great" after two just awful efforts? Then of course there was the maiden who won the opening day stakes race.
Trainers may try it, but they sure as hell aren't gonna run back on it with horses who don't like it.

I saw all of Great hunter's races. Hes a one paced animal with some speed, basically a polytrack angle thats becoming obvious. In his last he had yet another no excuse suck up to horses who came back and got roasted yesterday at SA.
He had shown neither the talent nor the desire that CQ had, and if you wanna bet a grand on whether or not CQ finishes ahead of him in the Cup, please feel free to do so now. The BC will be on dirt, not tires. Anything you wanna bet just let me know. Certainly you will wanna do that if you think Hunter is a better horse right?

Great Hunter was losing to Horse Greeley and Principal Secret. Granted those two didnt perform very well yesterday, but they are two of the best Cali has to offer. Quay got lucky in the Bashford Manor when Chace City broke poorly. I think that Street Sense was the best horse on Saturday and I will play him back in the BCJ.

I thought the winner was a contender before the race. ( I used him in my ESPN pick 6 contest)

He had a tough trip but was still not gonna win. Hunter had been chasing so-so's with no excuse good trips. He certainly isn't better than CQ on dirt, and that will be exposed in about 4 weeks.

Street Sense may have been best on Saturday, I agree. But how you can use "the best that Cali has to offer" when its obvious that they aren't. Principle had a dream all ground saving ride on a speed biased SA Strip yesterday and ran his last 1/4 in 26 flat while getting beat. If thats their best than the east Coast is in great ****ing shape, that I can promise you.

No Mike, we already have a bet out on Lava and I love that one. Look, don't have to resort to reminding me about your race watching skills, ok. Horse Greeley bounced to the moon yesterday, that is what happen, nothing else. California is not that strong.

As for Circular Quay, he looked nothing like he has in his other starts, he didn't look comfortable, so i agree with Oracle on this aspect.

A strong angle that I used to use at Keeneland was tossing huge Keeneland races when horses went to other tracks, might switch that around and toss bad efforts and play them back when they run again. Circular Quay should be a huge play in the BC Juvy, not particularly strong race this year

Yeah they don't change. Guys play devils Advocate AFTER the race and then don't wanna back up their statements. Ho hum, just another day.
Curt why not bet 100 bucks then? You obviously feel you have a better opinion than mine, lets test it out.

Make no mistake about it Curt, write it down and save the post, CQ will hammer Great Hunter in the BC Juvy, then we can revisit this.
