It really isnt a bad comparison. There is no perfect match but lets not act like you waltz into the Borgata with $200 and they start comping you rooms and dinner at the 5 start restaurants.

The post was to simply put into context how insanely expensive sporting events are.

rather you just be mean than see you stooping to that level, now I have to take some of the blame for your lapse in judgement.

Let's not pretend that high dollar players in horseracing arent getting something back.

That's not a big exaggeration.

Just got an email from Churchill about some new seating area, a furlong away from the finish line, that is available for the Oaks/Derby at $798/ticket plus a $5/seat and a $25 handling fee. Of course that comes with food and drink. A 'virtual' steal if you're Churchill Downs.

I think it is a very fair price considering the event

Back in the day, the first turn was called the turf terrace. It was general admission, and a great place to watch the race. I think they also have Section 228. I think this is a new area they've designed, it's the mezzanine or 2nd floor of the clubhouse. Bang for the buck, not a bad deal. I've sat just about everywhere at CD. Honestly, there's not many "good" seats. Most are a limited view, etc.

A lot of those Oaks day tickets will find their way to ebay or craigslist at decent prices.

These looked to be at the top of the stretch. The same view I get from the OTB parking lot at Arlington.
