Default Sumwon visit Wed. June 6th

Feeling the need to smell like manure and touch a real horse, I went over to Churchill this morning to see our girl.

She looks great - happy, feeling well. Cherie said yes, she was tired a bit after her last effort (as Chuck posted) but she hasn't lost a bit of weight - looks like she came out of it great. Nice and shiney, happy and interactive.

Nothing special on the agenda today: Cherie took her out onto the track about 9:30am, stood her butt to the rail for about five minutes watching (Sumwon wants to get going), then jogged her down into the chute.

Cherie spent 10-15 minutes warming her up down there, jogging some circles each way, getting her to listen and relax.

Brought her back onto the track out of the chute, let her break into a canter. Sumwon wanted to go (she cranks her neck sideways), Cherie let her ease up into a nice gallop, Sumwon settled in nicely and went on with it at a good lick, and Cherie took her all the way around from the backside about 4-5 paths out.

I think she galloped about a mile and two or three-eights, maybe (Chuck can comment). A breezing horse passed her about the eight pole inside, she wanted to go, but listened to Cherie.

She loves it

Came back, walked out, got her bath, looks very content, happy, playful. I think the only thing in her appointment book today is maybe getting her shoes reset today or tomorrow.

Chuck said maybe a work next week.

Sumwon says "Hi" to all her owners

Thanks for your post! It's nice to hear what happens on a normal morning when there is no listed workout.

too bad there isn't a park where she can go on trails.

No pics, sorry. I need to get a digital camera, with that direct download to computer, etc (someone e-mail me and tell me what to buy, and I'll go out and buy it, I'm a little technically clueless regarding that kinda stuff).

I will tell you guys a little stable secret ... now, keep this just between us thousand people on this list! .... after the bath, Chuck went up to her and splashed a little Avon Skin So Soft on her ...

Sumwon smells lovely

Beth, thanks so much for sharing your experience at the track with Sumwon today. I agree with mes that it's good to know what a regular day for our gal is about.

Hey Partner Thanks for the fine Update... Just one question, Did you bring any peppermints ?.. [ or does Chuck have her on a diet ? ] Sounds like she is ready to go again... Must be that ""dirt kicked in her face"" thingy !
I just hope she gets up here to race in NJ.. or in a barn @ the Spa !

See, I was think more made for TV movie...

I think my role - "Annoying Partner #21, with moderate drinking/gambling problem". Will likely be played by Gary Busey, although he would probably need to pack on some lbs. for the role.

Riot - Thanks for on-site report!

LOL - Tide, not to worry, plenty of peppermints left there, probably at least a pound!

Thanks Riot, great to hear about Sumwon's average day. Somehow it seems a whole lot more exciting than my average day.
