It did. But doing the right thing is not top priority in this sport.

If that was the 3rd race on Thursday afternoon he would have come down for sure, IMHO.

I would have not have lost my **** if I was taken down.. Having said that I think it is rare for a horse to get DQ'D for something that happened at the start.

Great hit, Jim.

I was on Bayern a couple times this year. Unfortunately I have horrible short term memory and obviously forgot how the track was playing today.

Oh well.

Congrats Jim, but he should have came down.

I know I didn't use Bayern or Moreno for the fact that I expected a duel up front. Now the horse ran huge, but him coming over 3 paths at the start eliminated Shared Belief and took out Moreno totally changing the dynamics of the race.

And for Shared Belief to run 4th after the trouble he encountered makes me think that the horse is a true monster.

Let's be honest, watching that reply, Bayern made his own early lead here. He really should be DQ'd.
Well said. This is BC G1 and not some maiden race with inexperienced horses and bug riders. if it was out of cali, he gets taken down. Completely took moreno and Shared Belief out of the race.

And that is why people are so pissed, and the stewards are insulting horseplayers intelligence when they say "it didn't affect the final result"

Andy nailed it on the head with this tweet: We talk so much, and rightfully so, about safety, and then encourage dangerous behavior with decisions like that.
