Default Time Flies

Was doing some past charts and happened to come across this horse's effort at KEE 10/25/07. It was her 1st time out and she was slammed/cut off badly at the break, trailed throughout, and put in a nice late bid in the stretch while not changing leads. There were 3 7F races run that day, a NW1 and another MSW for fillies and mares. TF's race was the slowest of the 3 in terms of finishing time. However, the quarter and half fractions for that race were faster than those of the other 2 races.

THIS was a very interesting return.

Let's break it down;

first the trainer:

Apparently, Jeff Talley didn't spend too much time trying to teach this filly to change leads, as she didn't change again in the lane, and was probably LEFTY a good deal of the backstretch

then the jockey;

Bridgmohan gave a perfect example of a what a ride immediately after dropping ACID would be like:

checked her EARLY and OFTEN

he's yanking her, going in and out, early backstretch

then, for some insane reason, decides to ride right on the rail from the turn to the wire. and if that's not enough, he keeps repeatedly looking over his right shoulder the stretch run, while the filly is running greenly and almost hits the rail. anybody else would've figured out that there's NOBODY there the first time he looked, as they were all WIDE but Shaun kept looking repeatedly, just in case he missed it the previous time.

what a complete lack of professionalism on the job of jockey and trainer

Bridgmohan should be fined

Talley is very tough to take off any sort of layoff line. They always need a race

So, after running evenly in a wipeout next time out, girlie wins today by 8+ lengths, paying 7.5:1.

And didn't change leads again.
