Default Mullins Beach

I think it's about time we start using this room again, so here's my offering:

Mullins Beach from yesterday's 7th at FG. First off, she's a one run turf sprint closer, and was compromised to begin with by very slow early fractions. In a bit tight, she checks back to last early, which is fine, when she begins her move at the top of the stretch, instead of swinging all the way to the outside, Mena moves her in the middle, and she instantly gets bumped, still plenty of time to rally, she then gets sawed off about the 8th pole, and finishes a non-threatening 5th (none of this is mentioned in the DRF chart).

But don't take my word for it, watch the race and decide for yourself.

Unfortunately, my OTB friend, Jessie, bet Mullins Beach yesterday. Your description is great, but I suggest that anyone reading this post -- watch the replay. I wrote MULLINS BEACH in caps in my race notes and added to my Watch List. Jockey switch might lead to some better decision making, too.

Thanks for heads up... Looking for big effort from Mullins Beach. Whatever DRF (or program) trouble line says this Saturday, it will be UNDERSTATEMENT. golfer gives great account in Post #1.

Got my wish and it's ROSIE in the irons. Fairly certain that we will not get 8-1 ML at post time.

After looking more closely at this race, there does appear to be plenty of speed on paper to set her up.

Let's hope we get near the morning line.

She ran 2nd at 9-2, no real excuses, good trip, just not good enough. Don't have any idea what to do with her going forward.

Did you notice that real repeater was winner, Wild About Marie? Third straight FG victory including race that Mullins Beach ran in January. Nice success story for horse and its connections.
