Family Parents: Keith Piggott (1904-93) and Iris (1905-87), daughter of Fred Rickaby senior. Wife: Susan (married 1960), daughter of Sam Armstrong. Daughters: Maureen (born 1961, wife of William Haggas), Tracy (born 1965). Also son Jamie (born 1993) with Anna Ludlow

Racing enthusiasts should read the book named after that horse, in which Lester figures prominently.

Fascinating read, weaving together the origins of Thoroughbreds, American capitalism, and The Beatles.

Can't say enough about that book.
