Katie is confirmed.

Spring Plate, Saturday:

1 43310 Cent Per Cent (AUS) 2 97 58.0 Graeme & Debbie Rogerson, Tuhikaramea
2 0114X Rendzina (AUS) 6 96 57.5 Graeme & Debbie Rogerson, Tuhikaramea
3 2463X Sanjeev 5 94 56.5 Ngaire Fraser, Cambridge
4 2310X Katie Lee (AUS) 1 90 55.0 Graeme & Debbie Rogerson, Tuhikaramea
5 6X51X She Rules 3 90 55.0 Brett McDonald, Cambridge
6 2147X Vincent Mangano 4 90 55.0 Peter McKay, Matamata
7 2226X November Rain 7 88 54.0 Tasha Collett (a) Richard Collett, Pukekohe Park

The 1200m might be a little bit short for her, and Vincent Mangano, November Rain and Cent Per Cent are nice horses, but she's a class above these guys.

I read that Wall Street is headed to the Windsor Park Plate.

Any idea who else is?

Yeah Wall Street is, and he'll renew his battle with Keep The Peace.

Here is the list of entries for that race, which is on September 18:

Keep The Peace
Vosne Romanee
Veloce Bella
Wall Street
Hold It Harvey (AUS)
Fritzy Boy
Illuminates (AUS)
My Keepsake
Time Keeper
Eileen Dubh
Booming
St Germaine
Bulginbaah
Pennacchio
Arlington (AUS)
Firebolt

Very nice group.

I've forgotten... was Vosne Romanee Horse of the Year?

Yeah, he beat Katie by 12 votes I think it was. I probably would have voted for Katie, but I'm not complaining that he won. He won three G1s last season against great fields.

The step up to the mile will be good for him in this race, and a drier track would help him as well.

VERY good! Roger James said he could be the best horse he's had since Zonda, which is...wow.

Here's his debut on Wednesday:

Also have a look at these two, if you have time:

I think we have some nice 3yos this season!

I'm a bit disappointed.

She has a few excuses - it was her first start since March and she looked a bit fat; there was a bit of a bias towards leaders; there was some rain on the day and the track might have been a bit wetter than she liked - but I was hoping for better.

Hope she improves a lot between now and her next start.

She was 3rd in her first start last season...

Maybe she's like Youmzain and needs a while to get going.

This is what Graeme says...
Quote:
"I thought her run today was quite courageous because the track was quite bad - she couldn't handle it. She's as big as a house and had a decent blow, so she needs the racing."

And Opie...
Quote:
"The track might have been just a bit worse than we'd thought it would be - it was probably closer to slow than dead. She's never won first up and she had a bit of a blow. She was briefly held up for a run in the straight and when she got out she wanted to quicken down, but couldn't in the ground."
So maybe it's not so bad.

How good does Antonio Lombardo look?

Oh and Upsala is still running, right?

Thanks!

Antonio Lombardo looks pretty good, but his stablemate Alvesta beat him by six lengths on debut and Peter McKay says "Alvesta's in another class". Alvesta is going to Sydney for his next start. I think Antonio Lombardo is being aimed at some of the big races here between January and April.

Upsala is still running. He's 25-1 at the moment for the 2000 Guineas.

Almost. She's 3-for-4. She came 4th in her first start after missing the break, and has won 3 in a row since then - the last one was a stakes race.

She is actually the favourite at the moment for the Gold Trail at $4.20, just ahead of Banchee at $5.

Wall Street is the favourite for the Windsor Park Plate.

Sounds like the track is drying out nicely down there today - it's a sunny, warm and windy day.
