Default Rachel Alexandra Print by Tom Chapman

Former Jockey turned Artist Tom Chapman has done a really great painting of Rachel Alexandra that I thought some here might appreciate. I have ordered a print and thought some DTers (Rootdog?) might like knowing it's available.

The print prices are:
24 x 20" for $450, edition of 35
20 x 16" for $250, edition of 75
14 x 11" for $120, edition of 100

You can see more of Tom's work at his website (Chapman Arts) or befriend him on Facebook and see many of his paintings there.

I remember Tom Chapman from my days in No. California. He apprenticed in So. Cal, and then moved his tack north after he lost his bug. He was always in the top 10 at GG and BM. I remember that one big filly Moment to Buy that he rode. She broke her maiden at first asking in an Allowance at GG, and then moved into Stakes company. She won some big races in So. Cal with Chapman riding. I remember seeing him as he was walking back to the jocks room at GG and congratulated him on his win in the Hollywood Oaks. He seemed to generally appreciate it. I'm glad to see he's doing well.

Just wanted to bump this up... I bought one of these prints and absolutely love it! It's actually printed on canvas and it looks like a painting. If you order one from Tom, let him know that heard about it on DerbyTrail - if enough DerbyTrailers buy one, Scav gets a free Rachel Print! (OK, Tom hasn't actually approved this but I think I could talk him into it )

The cool thing (besides it being of Rachel Alexandra, a true super-horse!) about this print is that Tom painted four "surprises" into the painting - he said it was getting monotonous painting all the people in the stands so he had a little fun with it... you have to see a print to be able to find them.

On a side note, Rootdog's relative that used to own Rachel just bought the original oil painting of this. Classy artwork if you ask me!
