Didn't the 2yo races have different names in the past. The fillies race was the Maid of the Mist IIRC. The Gimma and Bongard used to be at AQU about a month after the Showcase.

I think the other way around. The Gimma and Bongard were preps for the Maid of the Mist and Sleepy Hollow.

Haynesfield has had hoof issues this year. Too bad really, I was looking forward to another good year from him this year.

BTW, I think you are right. Now I have to try and remember the names of the races run in early December.

Name changes aren't important. Distance changes for several races ARE important, especially when we have full fields going 8.5F on the inner turf.
