Sep 4 Saratoga Gentle Musings to close the day . . .
1. I really like Baby Yoda . . . but had to go with my standard
2. Never sell Asmussen short in a big race, especially at Saratoga Thus I had another blah day!!!

We'll have to remember Baby Yoda. Seriously fast horse.
I didn't like that Forza D'Oro horse at all even though the talking heads were all over him. Only good call I made all day. I didn't play that race because it looked pretty chalky. I do that a lot. Need to stop that. A bird in the hand type of thing. |

Don't beat yourself up too bad. I thought that was a very difficult race.

Did I happen to mention that I really like War Like Goddess?
I probably spread too wide a net in my trifecta array in the Flower Bowl, but just didn't know what to make of #2 American Bridge. She clearly would have no trouble getting the distance, but I was flummoxed over what sort of class she would have off of a number of good races in France and a Group 3 win in Milan. What sort of competition was there? So, I wasted 2 smaller tickets on a "just in case she is good enough to get a piece of this" basis and cut into my profits because of this. I tend to do this with exotics out of a desire to "have the tri" rather than just take a strong stand. Still had the tri for $10, but my net return was about what I would have gotten by simply putting a straight $100 win bet of WLG. |

WLG was impressive. That turn of foot that she has reminded me of Uni. I can't remember though. Don't think Uni ran the longer distances.
