Default 5/19: Hi Ho! Pimlico (Preakness Day; 6th-14th)

HI HO! PIMLICO

POST-SCRATCHES

6th: S/ALW, 3+, 8.5f-T (P4, P3, DD, Hi-5)

Oy.. 14 line up to start P4 and at least 9 can win..

Best Value: #3 My Giant 10-1 2nd
Next Best: #1 Jose Sea View 9-2 9th
Exotics Use: #15 Barney Rebel 4-1 WON ($8.40)
Super Add: #11 I'm Da Big Man 15-1 7th

7th: Chick Lang, 3yo, 6f (P3, DD, Hi-5)

Yes Recruiting Ready and Three Rules figure tough and likeliest, but if Proforma is anything near his 10-1 ML, he's very attractive..

Most Likely: #1 Three Rules 3-1 3rd
Best Value: #5 Proforma 10-1 5th
Next Best: #7 Recruiting Ready 8-5 WON ($7.40)
Exotics Use: #6 Aquamarine 15-1 2nd

8th: James W. Murphy, 3yo, 1m-T (P6, P3, DD, Hi-5)

Like Hilltop yesterday, wildly entertaining and competitive. Use all you can afford as honest pace gives all styles a chance..

Best Value: #8 Undulated 15-1 10th
Next Best: #2 Total Tap 12-1 8th
Exotics Use: #6 Yoshida 3-1 WON ($7.60)
Super Add: #13 Chubby Star 20-1 2nd
Hi-5 Play: #5 Berks County 15-1 6th

9th: Maryland Sprint (G3), 3+, 6f (P5, P3, DD, Hi-5)

Most Likely: #5 Whitmore 9-5 WON ($4.40)
Next Best: #4 A.P. Indian 8-5 2nd
Exotics Use: #6 Holy Boss 8-1 4th
Super Add: #7 Sonny Inspired 20-1 7th

P4 Grid:

6: 1-3-15 (A), - (B), 9-11 (C)
7: 1-5 (A), 6-7 (B), 2-8-9 (C)
8: 2-6-8 (A), 4-5-13 (B), 1-3-7-10 (C)
9: 4-5 (A), - (B), 2-3-6-7 (C)

Simple (A+B): 3x4x6x2 = 144 x .50 = $72
All A's: 3x2x3x2 = 36 x .50 = $18

$0.50 Pick-4 (15/7/6/5) Paid $99.95

10th: Gallorette (G3), F&M-3+, 8.5f-T (P4, P3, DD, Hi-5)

Most Likely: #7 Elysea's World 5-2 3rd
Best Value: #3 Danilovna 6-1 6th
Next Best: #6 On Leave 2-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #10 Cambodia 8-1 WON ($11.20)
Super/Hi-5: #2 Zipessa SCR

11th: Sir Barton, 3yo, 8.5f (P3, DD, Hi-5)

Terrific group of second tier (currently) sophomores with host of double digit players with upside to consider.. Watch Me Whip (12-1), ATR house horse courtesy of Dale Romans, may be this good trying stakes company after MDN scamper; No Mo Dough (12-1) superb moving to 2 turns in ALW win at CD Derby Day; Steady developer Society Beau (12-1) never misses a check; Honor the Fleet (5-1) moves to 2 turns having done little wrong for Lou Albertrani in first 3 career starts. Eye-crossing cast and black hole for P5/P4..

Best Value: #5 No Mo Dough 12-1 WON ($20.00)
Next Best: #2 Hedge Fund 9-5 6th-DQ'd from 4th
Exotics Use: #6 Watch Me Whip 12-1 8th
Super Add: #1 Honor the Fleet 5-1 4th-Up from 5th

12th: Dixie (G2), 3+, 8.5f-T (P3, DD, Hi-5)

Nothing clever here, though 10-1 on Chad Brown/Castellano (Catapult) feel like obligatory inclusion..

Most Likely: #7 Blacktype 4-1 3rd
Next Best: #4 Projected 3-1 2nd
Best Value: #8 Catapult 10-1 4th
Exotics Use: #2 World Approval 7-2 WON ($7.00)
Super/Hi-5: #10 Ring Weekend 4-1 10th

13th: Preakness (G1), 3yo, 9.5f (DD, Hi-5)

Critics can talk all they want about Always Dreaming winning with 'perfect trips', but horses like him are making their own trip with their sustaining speed. Am reminded the more I think about it, of the 2003 Preakness when Funny Cide was similarly being called a perfect trip Derby winner and proceeded to throttle foes. Potential parallels to that edition don't end there either, with Classic Empire perhaps playing role of Peace Rules here and Cloud Computing subbing for Midway Road. Think the place to stand against always Dreaming is at Belmont in 3 weeks..

Most Likely: #4 Always Dreaming 4-5 8th
Best Value: #2 Cloud Computing 12-1 WON ($28.80)
Next Best: #5 Classic Empire 3-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #6 Gunnevara 15-1 5th
Super Add: #10 Conquest Mo Money 15-1 7th

P5 Grid:

9: 4-5 (A), - (B), 2-6-7 (C)
10: 3-6-7 (A), 2-10 (B), - (C)
11: 2-5 (A), 1-6 (B), 9-10 (C)
12: 4-7 (A), 2-8 (B), 9-10 (C)
13: 4 (A), - (B), 2-5-6-10 (C)

Simple (A+B): 2x5x4x4x1 = 160 x .50 = $80
All A's: 2x3x2x2x1 = 24 x .50 = $12

P4 Grid:

10: 3-6-7 (A), 2-10 (B), - (C)
11: 2-5 (A), 1-6 (B), 9-10 (C)
12: 2-4-7-8 (A), - (B), 9-10 (C)
13: 4 (A), 2 (B), 5-6-10 (C)

Simple (A+B): 5x4x4x2 = 160 x .50 = $80
All A's: 3x2x4x1 = 24 x .50 = $12

$0.50 Pick-4 (10/5/2/2) Paid $1,462.50

B-E-S/Preakness DBL Grid:

11: 1-4 (A), 3-5 (B), 7-9-10 (C)
12: 4-5 (A), 2-10 (B), 1-3-6 (C)

Simple (A+B): 4x4 = $16 ($48 for $3)

Staggered Full (A/B/C): $48
1-4 with 4-5 (4 x $3 = $12)
1-4 with 2-10 (4 x $2 = $8)
1-4 with 1-3-6 (6 x $1 = $6)
3-5 with 4-5 (4 x $2 = $8)
3-5 with 2-10 (4 x $2 = $8)
7-9-10 with 4-5 (6 x $1 = $6)

14th: S/ALW, 3+, 6f

Most Likely: #8 Classic Wildcat 5-1 3rd
Next Best: #9 Hunger 5-1 4th
Best Value: #3 Dukin' With Dale 10-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #10 Haywired SCR
Super/Hi-5: #1 Vim 10-1 WON ($20.40)

Good luck!
Steve

Great job today and all weekend, yet again!!

Congrats and thanks as always.

I was very surprised at the payouts on the P3 and P4. Felt like they were fairly light on a day like this, especially with a $20 and $30 winner in the mix. Curious on what your thoughts are. I understand it was almost dead on for the parlay numbers ($1,386 if my math is right), but felt like that was going to pay a lot more.

Quite an impressive display, your time, thoughts, insights and efforts are as always, much appreciated. Thanks again for an awesome first two legs, looking forward to the Belmont.

Larry.

Thanks a lot for the very kind compliment. Obligated to do best I can on these weekends and the time pressures are challenging, so it's very gratifying when they run for you.

Phone was dying ahead of feature, so I wasn't on top of will pays. Thought return was OK when it came back, but agree on inspection it's shyer than it might have been.

Pleased to see you and all do well!

The pick 5 payed way better than the pick 4, with a 4.40 winner in the first leg.

Wish I had it

Tom..

Thanks! I short-armed that P5 investment trying the single, despite thinking Cloud Computing was the only other win candidate. Ateam among those that popped the P5. Fun couple of days with no shortage of opportunities. Hope you did well..
