Really good show today. Loved Andy's take on speed horses, and good example you pointed out in the Tampa Derby.

You're just saying that because you got an on-air mention...

THX Craig.. Was another fun 3 hours. Andy always great.. especially when skewering me. Thought Carrie Brogden was terrific to help us run through the wire.

I kid you not, I missed the mention somehow. I had it on as I was working. Now I feel like a dolt because I posted on Twitter and will come off as self promotion! (not that I'm above that, but only on purpose!)

I agree with Andy's take on speed horses, just let them run. It really rings true in turf races where jockeys will be on the lead and let other horses come to them (by that time is usually too late), instead of opening up and discouraging the horses behind.

Aren't trainers somewhat like coaches? Shouldn't you try to play to your strengths rather than limit your advantages. Don't inhibit the animal if he has that natural speed. I love the point about how letting out another notch when horses come up to the frontrunner just crushes the will of the pursuers.
