Default Weekend Stakes Beyers: Frosted 123

One of the all time great performances in Met Mile (and racing) history.. Frosted with a 123 Beyer.

Frosted drawing away in the stretch was the highlight of the racing weekend for me, despite having Creator on top and annihilating my friend in a heads up handicapping contest for all 13 races @ Belmont.

What a display by Frosted. Arguably a top 3 performance I've seen in my 12 years of being a fan.

For some weird reason, as I'm watching the race, the thought of Discreet Cat's 7 furlong allowance win popped in my mind. Two totally different circumstances, but it's the Herculean effort that reminded me, I think.

Negative 8.2 TG from what I've heard...I've never seen anything even remotely close to that. Ever. Blessed to have seen that race live.

An all-time great performance by any measurement and best # ever since Jerry Brown has made figures.

Beyer on ATR today to discuss as well..

Per the American Racing Manual, Frosted's 123 is the highest Beyer since they started listing figures in for the Met Mile in 1990.

Three winners have recorded 122:

1994 Holy Bull (1:33.98)
2002 Swept Overboard (1:33.34)
2005 Ghostzapper (1:33.29)

Frosted ran a time of 1:32.73

Yeah. It's like this right now in quite a few Olympic sports.

That progression is peanuts compared to some human achievements.

We're living in the age of information. What these trainers, coaches, and athletes are doing present day is revolutionary. Training habits abandoned for something completely unique and complex.

Knowing this I hold great restraint when comparing to the past. Records don't mean as much.
