Very sad. Let's not jump to a conclusion about the turf course. These things happen.

Its not a conclusion... Its a fact, they watered it to try to keep Workforce.

Supposedly watering it just makes that turf course slippery and soft if you listen to some people. That's what Garret Gomez was saying in his interview. Called the turf course slippery and soft.

Thats the point, and it was watered in an attempt to keep Workforce, right?

I suppose.

Should have just ignored them and said "go ahead and scratch if you think it's too firm and hard"

God forbid a horse scratch. I mean they let LA10 run.

Which explains why horses never leave the barn (in the wild) on rainy days.

They said they only water it for ten minutes a day - and supposedly the trainer of Workforce wanted it watered a whole lot more.

Stoute is claiming the turf is too hard, too firm, and jarring .... and all of the American jockeys are saying the course if "soft" - Gomez called it "slippery and soft" when ESPN interviewed him about 15 seconds after the finish line. He speculated a lot of horse might not like it because they're struggling to get traction and slipping over it.

They didn't do anything different for anyone. The watering schedule was the same as it has always been.

2 years of BC races at S.A. no breakdowns. Im sad for that colt who fell because he slipped on an over-watered turf course and sure am hoping that Atta Boy is not looking at fractured sesamoids.

Why would one trainer complain about a surface being too firm and jarring ... and a lot of american riders claim the course was soft?
