He had gone off at odds of 66 to 1. Looking at his record he had missed the entire year of 2014 after being pulled up and had since been pulled up in every start this year. Poor old guy... hope he didn't suffer. RIP

"Coolmore regret to confirm that Vertigineux, dam of superstar Zenyatta has indeed passed away. The daughter of Kris S suffered an acute colic last year and was sent straight to the Hagyard Equine Medical Institute where everything was done to save her but unfortunately this was not possible. Vertigineux was covered by Tapit in 2013 when she failed to go in foal. Her final offspring is her unnamed two-year-old full-brother to Zenyatta."

He was pulled up in race 6 at Churchill Downs and was vanned off, Mariano Intheninth was the favorite and was 2 lengths in front before being pulled up. Mariano In-the-ninth was by Affluanza out of Giant's Causeway foaled February 1st 2012, he had 7 starts with no wins, one second, one third and 6 unplaced including 2 DNFs.
