Default Yankees

What a train wreck of a series it turned out to be after the heroics of Raul/demise of Papa Grande in game 1.

I have a West Coast (of Lake Erie) bias ... so I will be pulling for the Tigers.

I'm coming out for 1 more post..... this has been a nightmare. Coach should be fired and 3 or 4 of these guys should not be welcomed back. This has been gross. I have lost over $1300 betting them in every game of this pathetic series. I hope the plane goes down on the flight back to NY. I mean that. The only positive sign was Arod trying to pick up the chick in the stands. Guys got a ton of heart.......

Glad to see the Yanks out of it, as any true Met fan should hope.

I still enjoy the game, just happier when the Yanks are out....due to some REALLY arrogant Yankee fans.

I would rather be an arrogant loud mouth like myself then a bitter fan with nothing to ever get excited about.

Don't let him fool you Met's fans are just as bad if not worse then Yankee fans when things are going their way which unfortunately for them hasn't been in a decade and not in the foreseeable future.

Clearly the Yankees need to spend a billion on their roster.

No real bragging rights in a sport with unlimited cap room.

Baseball sucks.

Baseball sucks.
Since the turn of the century 12 franchises have played in the NBA finals, 15 in the Super Bowl, and 15 in the World Series. Baseball which is by far the hardest to reach post season, has had every single team except Toronto, KC, and Pittsburgh reach post season since the turn of the century. Despite the unlimited cap room, you get abundant variablity in teams that win in baseball. Just as much as the other two major sports.

There isn't enough money to fix this team. They are old, due megabucks on existing contracts, and have gaping holes with the exit of ARod and presumably Jeter (Arguably the best SS to play the game, but coming back off an ankle at his age - you'd be lucky if he only loses a few steps and is an average infielder at best).

They are cap fuc1<ed and have no depth or farm - they can't go out and spend another 150 mill and still keep their 200 mill current payroll, and they can't dump the heavy loaded, back-ended contracts on their dinosaurs.

Will be interesting next year to see how they manage this mess. I anticipate they will be bad for a few years until they can spend 100's of millions on marquee free agents again.

And here I thought it was just a game. Kinda think that wanting people to die in a plane crash because they didn't make you money is extreme.

More than likely, a plane goes down, everyone dies. Unless you go into the hudson river.
