They spent like he is a first ballot Hall of Famer. Of course I like the pick but they paid way too much.

There was a huge cliff after him IMO. If that's where they were going, I guess they needed to do it, and Cleveland knew full well that they could extort the pick.

He would not have lasted another pick. Oakland or Atlanta would have grabbed him.
And as far as I'm concerned, Mike Evans is no better at 7 than Odell Beckham at 12 who isn't noticably better than Brandin Cooks at 20. The Bucs wasted a draft pick rather than trade down for some later round picks. But none of the 3 come close to Sammy Watkin's talent.

Cleveland's 1st round draft was impeccable. They get a 1st and 4th rd. pick next year and still got Manziel.

I like Beckham a lot, but Evans is really good. The concerns about him are clear, that he played in a specific system that doesn't always translate, but he is everything you want in a modern receiver in my opinion.

New Orleans is going to annoy the s.hit out of everyone with Cooks, who was an excellent pick.

It was expected, both because of the current league composition and the players available, but the lack of importance of running backs could not be clearer at this point.

Agree completely - all 3 are great prospects - my only point was that I feel the Bucs overspent at 7 when they could have complemented Vincent Jackson with Cooks at 20, and been fairly equal.

Evan's knock is that he's one dimensional, but like you said, that well could have been the system he played in.

Tampa is going to be thrilled they have him, but I would have preferred a move down for an early 2nd round pick, taken any one of the 3 left with the move down, and grabbed a blue chip QB with the newly acquired second round pick. Maybe that was never a possibility, but you'd think they would have at least pursued something like that...

Lovie is on record as saying that Glennon is the future - they didn't give Mcknown 8 mil to carry a clipboard and highly doubt that they will not entertain the idea of a QB, though O line has to be their next priority.

Evans is a monster. Big, strong, athletic with great hands. Doesn't have blinding speed but is fast enough to get behind a defense. He reminds me of Brandon Marshall.

Tons of good receivers in this draft. Hoping the Jets grab Jordan Matthews in the 2nd round.

I swear there was a point where it almost happened. Mel Kiper had to reach over and pat him on the back like he was just joking around and Gruden gave him the Chuckie stare like, "dude, you are in the wrong house"

Ray Lewis was tired of hearing about Johnny Cleveland.

On draft day I wish they would let Mel talk more. All Gruden said every pick was that he spent an hour with Johnny and they should take him. Lewis would wait till the pick was in and then argue a case for whomever was picked. Berman Is just an @ss clown at this point. If you want the picks before they are announced follow Jason La Confora on twitter most are a few minutes before they are announced.

Redskins are on the clock. I hope they get some O-line help to protect RG3! Not that we couldn't use a CB as well.

Traded down with Dallas, picking up an extra pick in a later round. Dallas goes D-fense i would think.

Bucs go with a 6'5" TE to match their 6'5" WR. TE was a huge hole last year though the kid from Rutgers was serviceable. Really need some O line help now.

Man it's gonna be so funny seeing how many idiots get in trouble for neanderthal reactions to Michael Sam in the next few days.

Maybe the Rams can feature Michael Sam in a re-mix:

It's funny how Tim Tebow was mocked for his faith and this guy is gushed about to the extent that it's sickening already and he hasn't even played a snap yet.
Could you imagine the outrage (most of it fake) if one of the talking heads talked as negative about Sam as the majority did about Tebow.
