Default Sumwonlovesyou September 2013

I returned last week from a trip to Maryland to see Sumwonlovesyou and her children: a 3 year old filly, and a 2 year old gelding.
They were in a pasture with six other horses. I called her name and she ambled over to me.

This is her daughter, who is very sweet:

Yes, she does look a lot like her mother, as you can see in a side-by-side shot.

And she does have just a shadow of the same marking on her forehead like Sumwon.

Default 2 year old Medallist gelding

Here is Sumwon's son, a 2 year old Medallist gelding (I called him Squirt):

He was curious, but not quite as friendly as Sumwon and her daughter.
Here a family portrait... the best I could get:

Until you try, you don't realize how hard it is to get two or three horses to look at you for a picture.

All in all, I really enjoyed my trip. I got to visit four days in a row.
On the fourth day, Sumwon and her daughter followed me as I returned to my car. It was very hard to leave.

Y'all come back real soon.

Very cool.

She never suffered from lack of attention when she was racing and likely misses it, along with her peppermints

Jonathan,

Thanks for the pictures. She was a special horse. Always loved visiting with her. I do need to make it down to MD to visit the herd one of these days.
