Default Army Navy

God Bless all these guys! Love this event, and love that once a year it is the only D1 game on. As it should be...Don't care who wins.

if you're a college football fan you have to love this game!
50yrs ago Navy was 8-1 coming in to Army-Navy. Lead by Heisman trophy winner Roger Staubach with wins over Michigan and ND.

Last time Army won we just entered the war in Afghanistan.

Interestingly, even with the last 11 wins by Navy, they only lead the series by 8

This game was over the moment I saw Navy had a guy on the roster named "Wave Ryder". Interestingly enough, he's off to flight school soon...

I'm sorry but those teams' style of football is just brutal to watch. I understand the significance of the game obviously but just as a football fan I dunno how anyone could watch that game yesterday.

not if you're a navy fan! no, seriously, i doubt anyone watches to see some great football. it's more to see a storied rivalry.
and actually, i found the mizzou-auburn game painful to watch. i despise high scoring games like that, with no d.

you're not old enough to appreciate that style. I can't stand to watch the sloppy, fast pace, no defense crap these teams play today.
the game is really simple, run the ball, play good defense and don't make mistakes.

Bingo. 30 years ago that style was the rule rather than exception. Wishbone, Veer, Option was run by most of the Top Ten teams. I used to love Nebraska v Oklahoma wher 10 passes a game was a lot.

Army, Navy, Air Force and Georgia Southern, basically run the same offense. it's now a combination of the wishbone and Delaware wing-t. the motions and traps are from the wing- t, the rest is veer and bone.

Normally I would agree but these are never the best teams in college anymore. It is just much more than that to me. Total respect for the volunteer nature of our armed forces these days especially with the horrendous leadership we see in the executive branch now for decades.

You'd think a Jets fan would be used to brutal football.

Sorry to hear that he was fired. But you have to beat Navy to keep that job.

I think shootouts in college football are lame too most of the time. But it's tough to defend the quality of a game where the quarterbacks COMBINED go 7-for-18 for 60 yards.

And Chuck, don't you have a racist bully to make excuses for somewhere?

we watch red zone. cowboys barely squeak by the horrid redskins...and the announcers dare say that romo 'looked great'. no, he didn't. three picks and a one point win in the last minute. why do so many insist on praising romo? he's mediocre at best.
