Default Outsider's views on Nebraska football and Bo Pelini?

Don't care about the 90's and before. Just interested on some takes from more objective views and what people outside of Nebraska think about the current situation.

It's not easy to get elite athletes to play in the middle of nowhere, in the cold, in a mediocre conference. Pelini may not be the problem or the answer but I think it will be a long time before they are dominant again.

I live in Chicago and am a Big 10 follower, but other than the rep Pellini has for being a dick, am not sure what else the current "situation" entails??

Just heard on espn radio...Fired with a pretty decent record....but not surprised at all. Expectations are high, and he didnt meet them. Over 7mil to be paid to him. I dont figure him to be unemployed long.

I really think expectations there are unrealistic.

Back on topic... Pellini was excellent DC at LSU. He probably catches new DC gig quickly. He and Muschamp will likely interview for same positions.

Tempo offenses leave defense on field for more minutes every game. Hugh Freeze has discussed this subject in how he manages his offense during 2nd half.

Pellini and Muschamp have better understanding as they exit head coach positions. Finding proper balance between tempo and traditional offense is major challenge today.
