Default KEE SALES: #2188 to Dee Tee!

Dee Tee Stables partners, and prospectives, should stay tuned here as Chuck is 'live' for our yearling acquisition going into Day 6 of the Keeneland Sales...

Will update the thread by about 9:30 this morning with Hip # targets that Chuck will bid on, but he has identified as many as 5-6 youngsters going under the gavel today that he believes could fall into our purchase budget range of $40,000-$50,000..

Yesterday, we came close to a buy of a Smoke Glacken, before the price soared through Chuck's 'top' of $55,000, to $80,000. Today, yearlings by Indian Charlie, Yonaguska, Volponi, Cherokee Run and Lemon Drop Kid are among those under consideration by Chuck...

Stay tuned as the February auction purchase of Sumwonlovesyou was an especially fun afternoon as many watched live as it happened, and today should be similarly exciting...

shame you couldn't get the glacken, a good sire. of course lemon drop kid is nothing to sneeze at, but that'll be tough too as he's having a very good year.
at any rate, best of luck with the bidding!!

LDK filly goes for $80,000... Made a move on a Canadian Frontier and bidding exceeded $60,000.. Chuck passed..

Prices continuing to be 30-50% higher than targets through this early part of the 'middle market'...

Default Monday, 9/17..

'Team Chuck' ready to try today again today to nab a sweet baby at KEE, though it appears 'sharks are in the water' still at the largest catalog of Yearling Sales ever offered... Hopefully, we don't 'need a bigger boat'...

Interesting prospects that Dee Tee is looking for today:

Colts by Medaglio d'Oro; Gulch; Officer; Smart Strike; Street Cry; Johar; Dixieland Band; Mr. Greeley; El Corredor and Benchmark... Fillies by Harlan's Holiday; Indian Charlie; More Than Ready; Friends' Lake; Gulch; Medaglio d'Oro and Stormy Atlantic...

More as the day unfolds!

yeah, that's too bad.

or maybe not actually. he sure gets expensive yearlings considering how AWFUL the mares sent to him are. i'd say at least 95% of the mares sent to him are either unraced or won no more than once.

You simply judge a mare by her race record. For the record, that's your opinion. Others judge a mare on numerous other factors such as appearance, pedigree, demeanor.

not that it really matters as the filly was way out of the DT price range but she was a lovely individual...the first foal out if a kris s mare who is a half sister to multiple stakes winners and stakes producers....the fact that the mare herself only earned 10K is pretty much irrelevant, esp. in book 4.

Impossible to hear who wins anyways, just the person. I just missed how much he went for.
