Almalad, one of the longest prices on the tote, was 1-5 in the North American pool. Make of that what you will...

What a run by Adelaide, though.

Sensational performance by Adelaide.

The New Zealand mares Rising Romance and Silent Achiever have done their country proud in the big races so far!

The tight turns will get him. I could be wrong, but I don't think that he has raced on this kind of course, and this is a big "horse for course" race.
I thought he was an easy toss as well. I had expected Criterion to do better and was thinking Criterion / Silent Achiever / Royal Descent or Guest of Honour.

Melbourne Cup 40 (order of entry) (so cool to see Precedence on the list):

Indeed.

Just read about the hopes for the Arc on the Informant. That would be amazing!

Happy Melbourne Cup Day, Luvs.

I am so completely burnt out so rather than deposit more into my tvg account I am playing with the microscopic remains of my worst and really only terrible BC ever (shut up that isn't redboarding).

Now I cannot stand the thought of capping this SO I did a win bet on my favorite horse in the race, the old campaigner Precedence, who is 50/1 on the morning line (and with good reason. Things aren't looking too swell but whatever.... he only wins when I expect he has no shot so since I love him and I cannot so much as find the winner in a match race with one scratch am reverting back to the days of betting my fav boy).

Also have an exacta with Who Shot Thebarman (who has an outstanding chance as I know you all know) and Ms. Lucia Valentina (same) in the top spot and with Fawkner, Precedence, Brambles (my other sentimental boy and yes I will kill myself if wins and I didn't bet him) and Signoff... wanted to include others but after this weekend will just leave it at that and wish a safe trip home for all.

Best of luck, everyone.

I don't see including either one so you're safe from my jinx anyway. The one who I'm now kinda wishing I had included is Araldo but not to the extent where I'm going to start changing things.

I like your outsider, Magic man, but ended up using Signoff in his stead.

Looking forward to seeing the pics of Might and Power et al in the Melbourne Cup parade.
