Looks like Preachin and Ball Four will probably go right at each other in this one and my guess is that Ball Four will get the best of that battle, but will not be able to hold off the closers.

My picks:

7. Fairbanks-Should be sitting right behind the leaders and can you leave Pletcher out of anything? Interesting that he got the best of the speedy Barcola in his last at GP.

5. El Roblar-Maybe the Mig can sail a truer course with this one than he got in his last try at this distance.

1. Backus-Should benefit from the pace that his stable-mate will insure.

4. Ball Four-Has the best fig at this distance and the best record. Don't think he will win because he will not get the lone speed scenario, but seems likely to hold on for a piece.

Cal,

I agree with your top pick, liked FAIRBANKS yesterday on top in the Strub
got lucky after his scratch and hit the tri. I'll be using SOUTHERN AFRICA
and both Baffert runners underneath in the exotics.

Must admit, I pretty much looked over Southern Africa, but I think you are probably right to include him. Only a single win at this distance, but placed 4 times and he is a closer. Good luck.

HRTV saying that the 1. horse, Backus is scratched so I'll put Southern Africa in there in his place. Thanks for the help. My picks have sucked pretty bad of late. Need all the help I can get.
