I think Shackelford accidently got Flashpoints breakfast supplements. I'm at a total loss to find anything about his PP's that would indicate that he could run that type of race.

I'm still pissed it's on Sunday. And where the hell is ESPN? I still think Dialed in sucks. Soldat can't rate. To Honour and Serve can't go the distance. Bottom line, Coach is right, this race sucked!

Most of the connections today remind me of a group of teenage girls obsessing over the hot guy (Jerry Brown) in school and not doing anything to embarrass themselves. Instead of asking the guy out (racing) they'll whisper to each other, giggle, and act like weirdos in the hallway (workouts, press interviews, excuses).

Stop being little girls. Race your horses. None of them are any good and they never will be if you keep them in the barn.

Yes he did, but coming into the race, he didn't look very good. He and Dialed In were the only ones that did any running. I don't think Shackleford is that great, but who knows? Flashpoint is still a very good sprinter at least.

I hope one thing that everyone can agree on is that Stay Thirsty isn't much of a horse. I never understood the hype, and hopefully Plether/Repole realizes that he doesn't belong in the Kentucky Derby.

Repole says Stay Thirsty is one of the best 6 3 year olds in the country after the Gotham. After watching Pants on Fire, the Sunland Race and the Turfway park race he may be right.

He ran 7th today.....thus making it impossible he was right.

He was never right, but today proved it. Then again, the Gotham proved it.

the picture will continue to change as racing goes on. plenty of maturing still to be done by some of these horses. and of course some early bloomers are now being caught and passed by their peers.

i don't know . i thought dialed in and shackleford ran good. but the race exposed the others......soldat, flashpoint, stay thirsty....i already knew that to honor and serve sucked. flashpoint strecthing out was derby fever at its finest.

Default S.S. Stone sidelines with leg fracture

It sounds like S.S. Stone will be okay, back in a few months. Looking forward to seeing him run again.

Was in a 32k claimer earlier in the meet at GP....and sucked it up. See him soon in one of those NY 7500 jobs. Torre must be proud.

Yes, I'm sure it's breaking Joe Torre's heart that his trainer is running his horse where he fits.

He shouldn't have been in the Derby, obviously. And Torre seems to have no problem using a doping offender...No thanks on the hooker with the heart of gold.

I was going to feign indignation that he took someone's spot in last year's Derby, but last year's Derby really, really sucked. One would think if Torre actually wanted to go to the Derby, he would have invested boatloads of his cash in a horse who actually had a chance.
