Barry Abrams. Like no other.
Trainer. Breeder. Owner. Bettor. Thoroughbred. Harness. One of equine sports' most generous, thoughtful and treasured participants. He was the embodiment of the Jewish precept of Tzedakah, doing what is just, giving freely while allowing the recipient to retain their dignity. It's impossible to know how many people he helped or influenced and all must carry his spirit and strength forward. His impact on the breed through Unusual Heat will live on as long as we breed horses. Literally walked out of the Soviet Union as a young man to make his way to America to craft his wonderful life. There's less and less joy around the game and life right now and Barry's passing leaves a void in the sport and countless hearts. Will be missed in ways that can't be measured or understood.
