Default ROI Results 8/19 @ Saratoga

A big day was had at Saratoga by three players any of which could have
snaged the top spot any given Saturday. For the other four players it was a day to
forget. Cruzan stays hot with a win bet in race 6 on Race Me Home worth $28.60 but
it was only good enough for the show spot. Talk about a tough crowd. Ruffian topped
that win price with one worth $44.20 and you can't Chastise her pick but it was only
good enough for second place. Talk about a tough crowd. Don Guido takes the top
spot with a trifecta worth $635.00 in race 4 and as juicy a payoff as it was it still
wouldn't have been enough to win. Don added a win bet on Hello Don Guido in the
same race and the additional $162 put him over the top and gave Ruffian one more
bad beat at the wire. Congrats to Don Julio on the win and congrats to Ruffian and
Cruzan for their spot on picks. Following are the unofficial results pending any
inquiry. See you all next week at what I assume will be Travers Day at the Spa
unless Sweetwater Downs can put together a better card.

WIN... Don Guido... +$697.00... Race 4:1/2,6,3/2,6,3 $63.50 X 10... $635.00
$40 win 1 $8.10 X 20... $162.00

PLACE... Ruffian... +$563.00... R 7 #5 = $30 WIN $44.20 X 15... $663.00

SHOW... Cruzan... +$257.50 R6. 7 $25 WIN $28.60 X 12.5 ... $357.50

SUPER... Joly B ... +$57.60... R 8: $16 ex box: 3,4,6 $19.20 X 8... $153.60

RQ, I can't compete with any of the top 3 scores, but I think I had a winning outcome. I played the 4,6 exacta in Race 8 for $16 which should have yielded a total of $153.60 and a net of $57.60. It's a tough league when you have to beg for a 4th place finish.

Sorry Joly B. For whatever reason I thought you were playing a trifecta. That was actually a good payout for a 5 horse field.

Thanks for making the change RQ. I've been struggling with the Saratoga meeting and didn't have a good feel for any of the trifecta combos. Didn't think I had a chance at a Grand Slam, but I would have been Elated if it had come in.

So I found another rare buried nut in the ROI forest. And since it seldom happens to me I feel pretty darn good when I nab a win in this contest. So my wife says why don't you do that at the track? Uhhh, do we have a spare c note to risk right now or ever? Uhhh, Ok keep having fun on your forum. So there ya have it at my house.

That conversation sounds all too familiar.

Me: Hey, I just hit a nice trifecta in the ROI contest.

She: How much does that add to your Bet America account?

Me: Uh, I didn't place that wager in the real account. They are only cyber dollars.

She: Oh.

Wow! That really was one tough week to win!

In fact, it was so tough, I'm proud to have finished in a tie for 5th!

Default OUCH!

My most Painful Memory of Coulda ~ Shoulda ~ Woulda

A Friend of mine who used to produce ABC Sports for Horse Racing
once called me to ask if I wanted him to place a bet at the races
he would be reporting on the next day ~ I forget which BIG Race it was

So I told hime the 3 NAMES of Who I liked

His reaction was ==> ''Are U Serious? THOSE LONG-SHOTS?''
I said ''Yep!''

But when he asked if I wanted him to do a bet on those for me ~
I said No... Why waste my money on 3 Long Shots

That Monday He Called Me And Said
Not Sure If You Wanna Hear This Or Not ~

MY 3 HORSES CAME IN THE EXACT ORDER I NAMED THEM = $6000
