Default why?

Colt is made for 10 panels,He's got one chance with his good turn of foot and one run and that is whoever rides Bolt will have to stay within 3 lengths of the leader in the final turn and use that one good run the length of the stretch to hopefully run down both Justify and Good magic who figure to be on the lead at this point

Looks just like Scat Daddy...

Because its a picture of Scat Daddy, not Mendelssohn

Scat Daddy did stamp them with short legs though. And despite that, they have performed best on turf. I believe Justify is his first Grade 1 winner on dirt in the US (Daddys Lil Darling came close a couple of times).

The female family for Bolt D'Oro is littered with speed with a smattering of stamina.

His dam Globe Trot did her best running at a flat mile. Her other winner, Sonic Mule, is a multiple stakes winner up to a mile, but seems to prefer sprints (he's by Distorted Humor).

The second dam is Trip, who was stakes caliber both long and short. In addition to Bolt D'Oro's dam Globe Trot, she produced Need, who is the dam of the good sprinter Recruiting Ready (who ran a few times against kinsman Sonic Mule). She also produced Passport, who won the minor juvenile route, the Cradle.

Trip's dam was Tour, who was a multiple stakes winner sprinting. Her best son was Laity (by Pulpit), who also won the two turn Cradle. She has produced 3 broodmares of note. Guide produced the Coolmore turf sprinter The Great War (War Front). Joke produced the Grade 1 sprinter Zensational (Unbridled's Song). Leave produced the two-turn stakes horse Departing (War Front).

Default Thursday Thoughts on The Top Ten

1. Justify : Trust the Beyer boys. They often get it right.
2. Mendelssohn: Same thing. Just a bit harder used than necessary in his last race and who did he beat?
3. Bolt D’Oro: The only one, I think, with 3 100+ Beyers in routes (because Justify has yet to run 3 routes).
4. Audible: Todd likely praying for a pace melt down and may get it with the two faves having the same running style as well as 5 others by my count.
5. Good Magic: Will need to equal his Juvy win and even then might not win.
6. Vino Rosso: His lights just came on.
7. Magnum Moon: Oaklawn my home track so I have to like him and hope he does well.
8. Solomini: Hard trier and did not get the best of trips in the Rebel.
9. Lone Sailor: Probably on no else’s list, but you just know somebody is going to try for the rail trip.
10. My Boy Jack: Another candidate for the rail trip. Couldn’t beat Lone Sailor to the rail last race, but might get a better draw, if he can prevail at Keeneland.

He is harder used flying all over the world. Jock worked him but pulled up late and He still broke the track record winning by 17 lengths at 1-3/16 . I can't fault that performance. Only worried about a bounce factor or else he is going to win.
