Only 6 in the San Juan Capistrano?
That's a shame. Good luck to Bourbon Bay and California Flag. No point in playing such small fields so rooting interests only. Come home safe. |

Awesome to see the old fella California Flag take it to them today. :43 and change down the hill is still right strong for an 8yo.

Quite the photo after 1 3/4 miles. Tough beat for Eagle Poise and the Saratoga Special crew.

Yeah, it's just too bad the San Juan Capistrano and the San Simeon don't have it anymore.

Doesn't get much better than 1993, though the field was very small, with Kotashaan just edging Bien Bien in a world record clocking. I think Epsom Derby winner Quest For Fame was 3rd.
*No, it was '92 BC Turf winner Fraise in third. |

John Henry 1980 wire to wire. Went three quarters in 109 4/5. Never in doubt. Galloped out after the wire like he had another 1 1/4 in him.
