Default We gotta sit through this every year

Well it's time for that annual tradition...Randy Moss going off about how the Triple Crown needs to change the spacing.

He loves to go on about it'd be better to have each TC race start at the beginning of May, June, and July. When we had no TC winner for decades they complained about it. When we've had two in the last decade they're back at it again. 'It's even harder' now he says. So? Again we've had two winners. I don't think Pletcher's going in all 3 all of a sudden with a month in between, and if anything keeping a horse in top form for 2 months might be even harder. Has it been different before? Sure, but of the modern era, this is the spacing. It's part of the event now.

Can NBC not have someone with a contrary/better take speak against it? Can't be that harder to find them.

I've learned to use the mute button on my remote extremely well in the last few years

Ha. That was me during Round 2 on the main telecast. Then we had to sit through Belinda Stronach being all 'we're open to it.' Hope Baltimore holds firm on this one. She was open to taking it to Laurel no doubt.

NBC obviously has a vested interest in this or they wouldn't keep hitting it and teeing it up for Belinda to comment when nobody is truly asking for it, certainly not after two TC winners. NBC obviously sees $$ in changing as does she. If NBC were really just examining the issue, they'd give an alternative view point from someone credible they aren't actively employing. CD needs to keep their yap shut on race spacing here. We know they're looking our #1 and nothing else.

PS. Let's not forget NBC loses the rights the Belmont after this year, but sure, they're really interested in protecting the quality of the thing they don't care enough about to keep the rights and show the end of.

Back at it again. NBC hitting this one harder. Follow the money obviously.

NBC didn't lay into it this strongly before although Randy has expressed this thought. The difference is we've got two TC winners now. They're trying to act like there's this groundswell of pressure to change. There's not. Shame on NBC for acting like a propaganda arm for a position nobody's calling for (well, I gotta assume Belinda's not innocent here from how she piped up in that last interview and the past efforts to pull the Preakness to Laurel). Hopefully Baltimore and NYRA put an end to the nonsense but they need to get an earful from the folks NBC is refusing to give opposition time to.

Not sure this nonsense is unrelated to how NBC's been platforming the TC this year and letting the Belmont go but could always be a coincidence.

NBC lost the Belmont to FOX. That's what's going on here.

How does the switch from NBC to Fox impact who will call the races?

Fox had such great coverage of the Undercard races on Belmont Day . Maybe they could just show the pan shot of the races at Belmont instead of cutting away to that misleading view as they hit the turn.

I don't love that either Dan. I've made my opinion clear for years. It's fairly clear nobody listens to me:-)

I'm sorry. I don't know what a firm ABV stance is.
