Jump Jockey "Quarantine Rules" at NYRA
The New York jockey bubble at Saratoga continues thus far to work well and I hope that the next five weeks are as successful as the opening three. The tracks that followed this process also seem to have contained any spread.
Because I want to see the core jockey colony stay healthy, why were several of the jump jockeys scheduled to ride on this Wednesday's card at Colonial in a non-betting event yesterday? Are the jump jockeys kept in a separate area of the track? This seems to be a gamble not worth taking with this summer's NYRA business. There is part of me that says these jockeys are playing loose and fast with their Saratoga tradition that many players would eliminate from the menu without question. |
