Oh wow Rising Win is entered!

10 year old gelding, his first start was in the spring of 03. He won in November of the same year and in January of the following year. He won again in April and then there was a loooooong and sad dry spell poor thing.

Next time he made a trip to the winners circle was in November of 2007. A year and 14 starts later, he won his 5th race. Yea!

His current rating is 16 which I think is the lowest I've seen this season.

He'll be making his 82nd start on BC day in a Class 5 race at Sha Tin. maybe he can grab that 6th win!

Good luck to his trainer Mr. Leung, his owner Peng Xiong Fa and to him.

* * *

Nice fields tomorrow at Sha Tin (not Happy Valley). Rooting for Watch What Happens in R7 but Gem of Chui Ton looks really good too.

I think both will be at decent odds.....

Good luck to anyone playing and come home safe everyone.

Stellar field, should be a great race. (I'd be happy to see Jackpot Delight, Best Friend or Bullish Cash pull an upset but probably won't happen here. Love them all.)

Come home safe everyone.

Didn't see this before!

Wonder how he feels now...

Must have been a tough choice especially with Moore saying Pataca was the fitter of the two.

EGYPTIAN RA

19 November 2009

The Stewards have spoken with Mr A S Cruz regarding EGYPTIAN RA, which barrier trialed on Friday, 13 November 2009.

Mr Cruz advised that following the barrier trial, which he described as "disappointing", it was found that the horse had a bruised left front foot. Accordingly, he arranged for the horse to be re-shod later that day to provide support for the stated foot.

Mr Cruz further advised that he has been pleased with the horse's work since the horse was re-shod.

In accordance with normal practice, EGYPTIAN RA will be subjected to a pre-race veterinary examination to be undertaken by the Club's Department of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison on Saturday, 21 November 2009.

MMSC, I need you to look out for and keep me updated on Chater Way in HK. Used to be On Our Way back in the UK.

I accidently came across him yesterday when looking through the Gold Coast yearling sale catalogue for January. He's one from one in HK and he could be very good over there

I thought D Cruz was the Trainer EGYPTIAN RA? Or I might be thinking of the wrong horse that was trained by A Shultz.

On another note I'm amazed how slow a start AS Cruz, J Size and D Whyte have gotten off to.

Egyptian Ra is trained by Tony (Cruz)... maybe you were thinking of Hall? (ER was with him a few years ago).

As long as Prebble and Chadwick are up there (1st and 3rd in the jockeys standings)... I'm happy. Douggie will catch up.

No Chance... He won his first (and only) start against a pretty decent Class 3 field and is entered in R10 (Class 2) on Sunday. I think he wins there although I have to root for Redragtoabull just because. He does seems like a good one, you're right.

If you'd like info on the other Chater horsies, let me know. KInda like the Helenes, there are quite a few

* * *

Syllabus (well I care!) had another barrier trial... hope we see him soon.

Retired... First Baby, Whatafantasy.

So who do you all like in the Sprint / Mile trials?

Racing Incident Report
Shortly after the start, FELLOWSHIP and STREET CAT were crowded for room between SUNNY KING which shifted out and EGYPTIAN RA which got its head on the side and shifted in. Near the 1300 Metres, SUNNY KING raced tight inside STREET CAT which itself was awkwardly placed inside SIGHT WINNER. For some distance in the Back Straight, ABLE ONE proved difficult to settle. When questioned, O Doleuze (GOOD BA BA) stated that he had been instructed to ride the horse at the rear of the field today. He said he followed EAGLE MOUNTAIN throughout the race and rounding the Home Turn continued to follow that horse out to ensure that he was able to make his run on the outside of runners as the horse has performed well when ridden in this manner in the past. He said after shifting GOOD BA BA out from behind EAGLE MOUNTAIN in the early part of the Straight, the horse initially did not respond, however, when placed under pressure then finished off the race well despite being inclined to lay in somewhat as is usual. When questioned, K Shea said that EAGLE MOUNTAIN travelled well throughout the race and rounding the Home Turn, in his opinion, improved into the race satisfactorily. He said however shortly after straightening EAGLE MOUNTAIN came under pressure and then failed to respond to his riding in the Straight. He said although EAGLE MOUNTAIN was first up today since December 2008, in his opinion, the horse’s performance could best be described as disappointing. A veterinary inspection of EAGLE MOUNTAIN after the race did not show any significant findings. ABLE ONE, FELLOWSHIP and SIGHT WINNER were sent for sampling.

Racing Incident Report
SCENIC BLAST was withdrawn on 19.11.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter NIGHTLIGN. Before being allowed to race again, SCENIC BLAST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, YELLOW DIAMOND, which was fractious in the barriers, put its head down and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, YELLOW DIAMOND will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. SACRED KINGDOM, which was also fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin. ONE WORLD began awkwardly. Making the first turn, TUSCAN SPIRIT was steadied when crowded for room between LUCKY QUALITY and SUNNY POWER which was awkwardly placed inside DIM SUM (J Winks) which shifted in. J Winks was advised to exercise care. Passing the 600 Metres, ONE WORLD became unbalanced and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of INSPIRATION. JOY AND FUN, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. ONE WORLD was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. HAPPY ZERO was also held up for clear running until passing the 300 Metres. Near the 250 Metres, JOY AND FUN was steadied away from the heels of HAPPY ZERO when held up for clear running behind that horse. Then, near the 150 Metres, JOY AND FUN was shifted out away from the heels of NIGHTLIGN. A veterinary inspection of INSPIRATION after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, INSPIRATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HAPPY ZERO and SACRED KINGDOM were sent for sampling.

CSC... Agree and it was especially nice to see Able One run a good race.

No Chance... I did kinda answer before (although I stupidly didn't follow up!)...

No Chance... He won his first (and only) start against a pretty decent Class 3 field and is entered in R10 (Class 2) on Sunday. I think he wins there although I have to root for Redragtoabull just because. He does seems like a good one, you're right.
Huge upset... he was 2nd...

Retired... Tchaikovsky, New Kid in Town, Ode to Joy, Da Judge.

Lock of the day for Wednesday at Happy Valley... Finn McCool in R6 (probably not at huge odds, but...)

Good luck to... Watch What Happens in the final. I think it's Hannah King Prawn / Fluke / WWH. We shall see.

No Chance... I did kinda answer before (although I stupidly didn't follow up!)...

Thanks for the update, what did you think of Sunny King? I think he may have even been more impressive though Able One had a uncovered trip most of the way and still finished a safe 2nd under Darren.

This race puzzled me in more than a few ways, usually there is a horse I would have in mind for the big race...Eagle Mountain was also lacklustre it would be hard pressed to make a case for him in the Mile. De Kock can be magically though....????
