I mean, I get that. Completely. I'm not usually one to be upset about longshot winners. Didn't cash a nickel on Giacomo, and wasn't upset even a little bit about him, because he had at least been competitive against SOMETHING resembling a quality horse before in his career.

There's getting beat by an illogical horse.

And then there's this, which is an entire stratosphere away from Giacomo's Derby.

Frustrated from losing, for sure -- but also frustrated that I don't think there's any way any serious horseplayer could have come up with that. At least there's no way any serious horseplayer can call Giacomo a nag ever again....

Look at the positives. Everyone came out of the race ok (that's huge after the tradgedy last year). Also, look at the prices that mainstream America is going to see after this race. I am talking about the people that only play today and maybe the other TC races. Maybe a few more people will be drawn to the sport, after seeing the balloons that are capeable of being paid out.
I know it's a stretch!

I have a win ticket...... Of course I have a losing ticket on the other 19 that I bought to hand out at my derby party... Pretty much the only way I'd play that horse.

Agreed, but today is the day that everyone plays. And for many of those people who don't usually play and have friends or family that are born on August 16th. They are all laughing to the bank thinking this is the greatest game in the world.
