So far,
i have managed to show a marginal profit from strictly a money in vs money out standpoint.

but when you consider all the expenses associated with my wagering, Im sure I am down.
gas money spent going to the track, daily racing form costs, online past performances expenses, and just general time spent on this game.

no way I came out on top.
but I dont care.

some ppl spend money on ppl they care about.
I spend money on myself and the things I enjoy like gambling.

Back in the 1970s, my brother and I were selling raffle tickets for little league. We were going door to door in our neighborhood. We rang the doorbell of a house about two blocks away and you won't believe who answered the door and was renting the house. It was Demond Wilson who played Lamont Sanford on Sanford and Son. Me and my brother were thrilled. We were huge Sanford and Son fans. Wilson was really nice to us. He bought around $10 or $20 worth of tickets. We were talking about if for a week.

Sanford and Son was such a gret show. The whole cast was great. There were some people that weren't on every episode but that were on every once in a while and they were hilarious. I'm talking about people like Julio, Grady, Aunt Esther, Bubba, Rollo, etc. What a great show. It was truly a classic.

I didn't like the show that much when it first came on the air, but it sure grew on me. I really liked Grady! And Red Foxx was far more talented and accomplished than my kid mind realized at the time.

"Barney Miller" was another classic fave of my mine from the same era.

Just to bring this back to horse racing, "Nick" from Barney Miller was a regular on episode reader of the DRF....

The creator of Barney Miller was Danny Arnold. He made millions of dollars from that show. He was a big horse owner out here. He had a ton of horses back in the 1990s. He died about 10 years ago. I used to be very friendly with his two sons but I haven't see either one of them in a few years.

Having worked for an OTB company for a number of years, I can tell you that I have met countless people that claim to win, and only a handful that actually do.

The saying we use to have is "they all lose eventually," is not that far from accurate. There are a few smart players out there that win, but over 95% of the players I have seen do not.

BC day bailed me out for the year. I ended up profiting 7% on what turned out to be a light year of horse betting. That figure includes non-parimutual bets on futures and matchups, as well as the rebate at Pinnacle and the 10% win payoff bonus at 5Dimes. Also, there was a nice 15% payoff bonus promo at VIP/Gameday during the TC, and that helped. I was really weak with pick 4's and trifectas and I know that's because I just don't go deep enough... also, I really sucked at Aquaduct this year - I won ONE bet out of 50, but that cause I did too many p3/p4 without going deep enough.

The great thing about this is it's made me realize what my betting strengths and weaknesses are - I do pretty good picking a winner, and do ok picking three in a row, but other exotics are not good for me - I'm just too cheap to go deep enough to make it worth while.

Looking for differences in how you did on various kinds of bets and various tracks can be interesting, but when you find differences, you shouldn't put too much weight on them. Your total number of bets cannot be very large, especially if you are betting Pick 3's and larger exotics.

Since you opened your BRIS account, you've done about $350 better than a dart thrower. That's something to celebrate, but at the same time, it's worth noting that a single payoff may have made the difference between looking like a dart-thrower and looking like a good capper.

I'm happy about my +7% on the year, but it's sobering to realize that my entire profit can be attributed to Thor's Echo in the BC Sprint. That keeps me from getting overly excited about my skills.

I opened my Youbet account a month before the Kentucky Derby with $650 and I have played $100 to $500 most weekends and I still have $296 left with a weekend left. I have hit some good P3 and DDs and yes I have also ate alot of dirt.

I ventured into the Pick 3 and 4 land this year, smartest thing I ever did. I hit a nice Pick 4 this Spring, another one this summer, and some nice Pick 3's all thru the year.

I lost money this year gambling no question, but did not keep track of how much. I don't care to be honest, I have a nice place, some food in the fridge and freezer and my bills are paid, some of them

I came out dead even. I refuse to gamble on horse racing where horses are drugged infinitely...cheating is rampant etc. I would lose everything if I bet as I am not a very good handicapper. I just pretend I know a lot!!
