Can I humbly ask an embarrassing question? (It's a series of questions actually)

In the "Comments" section of the PPs, what does "Off bit slow" mean? Is it different than "Off slow"? And what exactly are "Bobbled at start" and "Steadied at start"? I understand they are rough starts, but what exactly is going on and which is more severe? Finally, what is "Waited bit 1/4" or "Waited 1/4"?

I couldn't have come up with that on my best day - beaten a combined 12 1/4 in 2 turf routes... f me.... poor break by the 6 compromised the pace, cannot wait to bet against Deep Pockets next out -
