Agreed, but at this point I think they are playing with the house's money. Getting out of the round robin was the key. I think they would really be up against it if they should draw the Germans next round.

If if it had ended scoreless, would the US had advanced?

EDIT: Looked it up and I don't think they would have advanced with a tie. Needed the 3 points to jump ahead of Slovenia, but correct me if I'm wrong

That was cool - When they scored, I was shouting USA USA USA in the office and I'm noT even close to being American! I do know that the US winning the group sets it up nicely for an England Germany 2nd round game as long as the Germans win tonight!

The way that goal went down, it was like with the most pain possible. I mean, is there a cooler way than that to beat the scumbag Muslims? Now go home. Get on your hands n' knees, and bow your head to your butcher prophet (who is surely disgusted at your getting beat by the Infidels.)

Im glad the refs didnt take another win away from the United States even though they tried too. Soccer has to be one of the most if not the most corrupt sport in the world. That ref that screwed the United States out of the win against Slovenia I hope he breaks his leg so he doesn't get the chance to screw another team out of a win.

Uruguay is definitely the one to beat out of the left side.

Today was amazing.

That said, Ghana is no pushover, but I'm not sure that there's really a serious standout in our way to the Semi-final.

That's not me saying we're going to get there, but that Uruguay is a serious team, but far from an Argentina or Portugal or Brazil or Netherlands. We actually have a rather conquerable road to the final four, to be honest, IMO.

I'm not terribly confident that it will happen, I was just letting God know that it wouldn't be Argentina if they did win.
