I am cutting greens at my local course 1 mile down the road for extra income and not to mention free golf at this course. By the time we are done around 9am or so man I am whooped. While I was in college I worked summers at Muirfield's sister course, The Country Club at Muirfield and man let me tell ya on a hot summer day when you are digging, chopping whatever it is you work up a serious sweat.

You have made enough contacts, you know how it is. One or two phone calls later you will be back in the saddle man. Hey, what about a job at Colonial until the end of the meet?

One year ago the last week in April I left on a Greyhound bus to Cincinnatti, hopped in a cab to Argosy Casino - paid for my hotel room for 3 days and proceeded to do exctly what Nicolas Cage did, but much more gambling. I slept in that $100 room one time for about 3 or 4 hours, and showered in it every day. After that was over, I hopped back on a bus and proceeded to spend a couple weeks you know where - most of you remember that stupid ordeal. Its a wonder I didn't die of alcohol posioning. The bars were closed from 4am till 7am. When 7am rolled around, did I drink coffee? You know the answer.

Oh ya, and no slutty hookers either. Thats just not my scene.

Just take all the money you could get your hands on and go on one crazy binge in Vegas.

You guys would be lying if you told me you dont think about this from time to time? Especially Scavs.

Kev,

You are easily one of the class guys on this board. You will rebound in a big way. Good luck, my friend.

Kev.

I'm real sorry to hear that. You're a fine person and I'm sure that you'll make the best of the situation.

You miss 100 % of the shots that you don't take.

That's good advice. Turn this into an opportunity to do something you really want to do!

Regardless of how you proceed, I'd be willing to bet significant bucks that 12 months from now you will be glad of the change.

Good luck to you!

Sorry Kev, it's not a cool thing to go through. Everyone has already given out all the good advice you'll need. I'll just say keep your head up and eyes open and the opportunities will present themselves.

On a lighter note, from reading all through the thread it sounds like you could line yourself up for quite a fun summer of travel. Traveling the country, sleeping on a variety of different rollout beds offered by DerbyTrailers, seeing all the great summer races, visiting friends along the way. Actually it doesn't sound too bad! lol

It will happen again, probably will need to go down there again this summer or fall. I'll definitely try to line up something with you when I do go down. I'm counting on an indoctrination into the ways of the VA OTB life!!
