The quote from Rupert:

What's ironic about this whole thing is that these militant Muslims are making the Pope look like he was right. The Pope was saying that it's a violent religion and now these militants are calling for the killing of the Pope and the killing of Christians, etc.

You would think that they would do the opposite. If they want to show that the Pope's remarks were incorrect, they should all be calling for restraint. They should be saying that his comments were incorrect and ignorant. By calling for violence, they are making his comments look correct.

Exactly what is ignorant about the above by Rupert... DTS?

And DTS. Just as a little insight into ignorance and/or brainwashing. What % of Muslims in non Middle East Countries think the Holocaust never occured? No poll is perfect. But it is quite amazing. In Middle Eastern Islamic countries it is off the charts.

In this day and age people can be told the Holocaust never occured, and then have a museum devoted to anti-Jewish art. At some time one has to make a decision about right and wrong. At some point and time people have a PERSONAL responsibility to search for the truth and not gloss over... like, well yes, there are also many US citizens that believe the holocaust never occurred... While the % is very low.
I think you see what I am trying to illustrate. You have got to see the danger in this worldwide movement of hatred and intolerance. ONe can pontificate endlessly on why it is occuring now, but the fact is, IT IS occurring. And any person like yourself who obviously does not like hatred that leads to bloodshed should be worried.

Pgardn,
I don't know how to respond to your questions because I really don't know.
I've never claimed that I did.
Here's a pretty good opinion, written by one of my favorites.
It gave me a chuckle. I hope it does for you also.

As the reaction to the Pope's words of last week continue in many places, it seems that his current words are more concilliatory.
I won't comment more than that, and leave it to others.
