he seemed a bit rank very early, just after breaking from the gate. but seemed to settle after that.
but i think they already scoped him soon as he got back. of course the oh so loquacious dutrow is suddenly tighter than a clam....so who knows? his asst said the horse is fine physically.
maybe he's just suffering withdrawal symptoms.

Don't know why they think the race was over on the far turn. He is rank behind horses in the 1st furlong. How you gunna go 12f if you are not relaxed in the 1st furlong. They need to figure out why he was rank early. 1)The hot weather, 2)dirt in face, 3) heavier surface than he may have liked...Wasn't the distance, because he is unhappy early. If he got cut it's because he wouldn't relax early. This is very hard to pull off, and the other horses who have failed were looking nice going in, too. You can make fun (all you want) of those who think track surface is important, but I still think it's a major factor. That surface is deeper than GP,Churchill, or Pimlico., and it does factor somewhat in this. I mean Sarava, Bird whatever, and Tara did something on this surface that they simply weren't able to do on other surfaces. Tara couldn't win an ungraded stakes anywhere else, but takes this grade one. People should respect the power of this surface, because it matters to horses a lot.

This is rhetoric. Simply state your disagreement (so people know what you are disagreeing with.) You failed to state it specifically. Mr. Clean gone cranky. You get smoked on a "will BB WIN THE T.C bet" ? "Hey, I bet READY ECHO n' DENIS. I lost. So, you're right. I would have better profit betting baseball. It's just that 3 hours is too much hell. Jazil just called Tara on his hand-less cell phone. Told him "Welcome to the club, my brotha." BTW..Ya boy, Andruw Jones has earned about 5 mil already this year ( about 1 mil per rbi....or it seems like that...I bet it's close to that.)

He absolutely does deserve credit for showing up. Zito does it the way I would like them all to do. Forget about the competition. Prepare your horse to run a race and when he's ready for it, run him. Don't ever let one horse scare you from a spot. Three or four, that's different. But never one.

Ive read quite a bit of good analogy of his poor performance, the Racing Gods, steroid withdrawal, heat, deep track . But to me its quite obvious that he carried more weight than the others . ITs got to be at least five lengths for every Hooter girl "supporting" him. Yea, thats what i think got him beat....

RACING GODS got him. Biggest cheater(and the biggest trash talker) in the game stepped in poo, and that's payback for every juiced up chalk he has shoved down people's throats(while talking his trash.) He would easily have traded them all in for the T.C., but he can't have it. No, cheater, you don't own the world. Go find your hips, because your back is tired of you resting your hands on it. The horse is o.k., and the cheater got beat. Turn up the party music. Even my dogs get steak on this night. When you start feeling sorry for this guy, go back and read his trash. Atleast show your competitors respect(even if you think you will trounce them.)

We should've seen this coming. Any horse that won't stand still to wear the roses and the black-eyed susans was tempted fate as it is.

Hey Chuck, could there be a problem with the left front that doesn't make him limp but made him do that badly? Or is it more likely bleeding or something? Is an abscess too bad to get masked by adrenaline? I didn't see Empire Maker post-Derby but he ran on that foot of his and at least got up so I didn't know if Big Brown could mess up that badly without being full on lame.

LOL...Jazil had come a decent 4th in a Grade 1. This one was a lot tougher stab. Jazil, you are off the hook.

I put $10 to show on a couple of them hitting two of them. Denis of Cork and Anak Nakal. Wife had a $5 Ex Box with the Zito horses. She said they were showing him to much on ESPN and he killed her favorite horse Smarty Jones with Birdstone.

A foot abcess is tough because there often is no way to measure how severe it is or if it even exists. He may be sore in the morning. Just look at CD. he galloped ok but cooled out sore. Dont forget that Kent d pulled him up early so that may have helped. He may have bled but bleeding with a horse like this is usually secondary to some other issue bothering him.

are you blaming the ride too. like the guys on the other thread? he did not beat a horse. a horse thats never been beaten. what race did you guys watch? anyone that says that horse was not sore is lying . then the other people were on here saying he was secretariat. the best is when knuckle heads claim a horse can't lose. when people talk like that and say they know horse racing . i know it will. any horse can lose on any day, or they would not bother running it. a horse thats not sound will always lose eventually. people can talk all they want but this horse is good against a weak group, plus hes got issues. i was halfway to my car before he crossed the line .
