The pace was blistering in the Futurity. Kee Poly is extremely slow and that field was gapped out a good 15 lengths. CQ and Great Hunter had the perfect pace set up; Street Sense had anything but.

I wouldn't doubt that Street Sense gets a perfect rail trip again. He's definitely going to move over and save ground from the outside post. The horses could come off the rail in the far turn and let him through. Small field also.

Was he really blowing by them -- or did a bunch of mediocre horses collapse? The mile was 1:37 and the final was 2:02. Nothing really riveting there. Bris gives him a 105 late pace figure. Good -- but again not earthshaking.

If he gets the rail trip again he may win by 6. But he'll definitely need the rail to do that. Good possibility that he gets the rail in this small field.

Well...let's just say he was moving past them pretty well. Will he get the rail tomorrow...I doubt it, but this will give us all a chance to see how good he really is. It's going to take a real good horse to beat him.

Am I the only one who would die laughing if Calvin won on the rail again? I mean I want Street Sense to prove himself so some folks will hush but seriously, on the rail by daylight again. Funny as heck.

I mentioned that last night -- I would love nothing more, even though I know it's unlikely that it would happen again.

But it would just drive some people completely out of their minds trying to deal with it.
