15 US states, Canada and GB have produced Derby winners. The least populous being Montana, home of the mighty Spokane.

One more, from the modern era. Hint: His owner breeder was one of the most respected and beloved of "big time owners." His trainer was one of the greats of the game.

1937, Mary Hirsch sent out No Sir to finish 13th. Mary was well bred for training, being "by" Max Hirsch. She trained Travers winner Thanksgiving in '38.
