![]() Question for the circle jerk boys....are you at all concerned with a candidate that says they recieve their instructions on how to live life directly from god?
When answering, please stick to topic and let's see if you can do it without mentioning Obama. |

![]() Same conversation over and over again? Sounds like an Obama press conference - or the nightly news coverage thereof - take your pick.

Do you really hear voices in your head? or is a feeling?

![]() Wrong. It's President Obama when you use his name as a direct title. It's the president when referring to the office or its occupant indirectly.
And it's God. Consult the first commandment if you're confused. |

I didn't see the original quote, but I would think there is a difference between someone saying "God spoke to me" versus "God has made His will known to me", and that would have to be a feeling, presumably of inspiration towards the doing of good works for others. |

![]() Of course. But intelligence alone doesn't predispose one toward benevolent action. There have been a lot of smart evil people too.

![]() That may apply to Christians but doubt that many Muslims (for example) will take guidance from the Christian Bible. I am guilty of often using lower case "g" when referring to Christian/Jewish deity...don't do it out of disrespect but simply my mindset doesn't equate the term to the Almighty.

![]() Joey, I agree with that...it's not intellect but one's moral compass that dictates behavior....but belief in one specific deity is not the determining factor either.

Those guys screaming "Kill the Infidels" and blowing up planes probably have reason to worry. After all, if God made 6 billion plus people and counting, I don't think He meant for part of them to be prey and part to be predators. |

![]() then you get into the whole mind, body and spirit (soul) debate.
i feel most people believe we have a spirit that goes on and on. but what is it made of and where does it go? where did it come from? I personally think that your soul is the same as your mind and body and that all three go kaput the day your heart stops beating. also.... is there more meaning to life on Earth if there IS an afterlife, or if there is NOT an afterlife? wouldnt what you do on earth be more important if it was the end all, not everlasting? so many interesting questions and answers. I love hearing about other people's beliefs.
